Amarisco is an established custom picture-framing business based in Artarmon. We are looking for a reliable and personable part-time / casual team member to assist with customer service, administration and the day-to-day operation of our showroom.
This is a varied role combining front-of-house customer service with general office and administrative work. Previous picture-framing experience is not required (but beneficial), as training will be provided.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting customers in the showroom
- Helping customers select frames, matboards and other framing options
- Processing payments and preparing customer orders for collection
- Wrapping completed frames
- Answering telephone and email enquiries
- Preparing quotes by telephone and email
- Sending SMS updates to customers
- Assisting with general administrative and office tasks
- Potentially assisting with social media and basic marketing activities
- Keeping the showroom and customer areas organised and presentable
About you
You do not need formal qualifications or previous framing experience. We are primarily looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, professional and confident dealing with customers
- Organised and comfortable managing several small tasks
- Reliable and attentive to detail
- Comfortable using computers, email and basic office software
- Willing to learn about custom framing and design
- Able to handle and wrap framed artwork carefully
Experience with Xero, Outlook, Excel, retail customer service, art, design or picture framing would be useful, but is not essential.
Hours
We are looking for someone to work approximately 10am–2pm, three or four days per week.
Our preferred arrangement is Thursday to Saturday, although we may consider other combinations and flexibility on hours.

Pay and employment arrangement
This is expected to be a permanent part-time or casual position.
Pay will start from $27 per hour, plus applicable penalty rates, with the final rate depending on experience and capabilities.

Amarisco has provided custom picture framing from Sydney’s North Shore since 1976. We frame artwork, photographs, memorabilia, certificates, canvases and other meaningful pieces for private customers, artists, galleries and businesses.
We are a small, practical team and every job is different. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, has an interest in art or design, and wants consistent part-time hours in a hands-on small business.
