You want to do work that makes a positive difference to local communities
You've been developing your skills and are ready to work on projects that matter to the people of NSW. You know that quality matters and that delivering results requires a great team.
In this role, you'll:
Play a key role in the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure by operating a variety of large and complex plant equipment safely and efficiently. You will also undertake a range of Road Worker Grade 3 duties as required to support the delivery of road maintenance and construction projects.
Working under limited supervision, you will perform both routine and complex labouring tasks, operate heavy plant and equipment, and contribute to the safe and efficient completion of works across the network. You will be responsible for conducting pre-start safety inspections, carrying out basic plant maintenance such as refuelling and fluid checks, and maintaining accurate maintenance records to ensure all equipment remains safe and operational.
You will utilise established procedures, guidelines and manuals to resolve day-to-day operational issues and work closely with supervisors and managers to address more complex challenges, minimise risks and achieve project objectives.
This is a hands-on, outdoor role that involves working in high-speed, high-volume traffic environments, travelling to various work locations, and undertaking physically demanding work. You will also be required to work outside standard business hours, attend emergency callouts, and work away from home when required, with accommodation and Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) provided.
Through your work, you will contribute to the delivery of safer roads, improved transport networks, and reliable infrastructure for the community.
This is a fixed-term opportunity until June 2027, based in Narrandera, and successful applicants must reside within a 75km radius of the Narrandera Works Depot.
