About the role
A General Assistant Toolstore Person is responsible for providing high level customer service to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of frontline class support. Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to supporting students by contributing to a positive learning experience, general administration work, purchasing and organising tools, equipment and materials for students and staff. This position will carry out manual handling activities.
We currently have a Permanent Part-Time opportunity within our Plastering section at our Lidcombe campus.
Please note: The required working days are Monday (8hrs) and Tuesday (8hrs) and Friday (5hrs) with a 7:30am start.
This role is advertised with a full-time equivalent salary. Please note that if you are employed on a part-time basis, the salary will be prorated according to the hours you work.
This role involves daily physical duties. We encourage applications from candidates who can meet the role requirements, and we support reasonable adjustments where required.
About You
- You are a self-starter who is willing to be hands-on to support learning outcomes and delivery in the classroom.
- You are excited to share your industry knowledge and experience with others.
- Have demonstrated experience working within a trade environment, using a range of hand and power tools and able to conduct minor repairs and maintenance.
Essential Criteria
- A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
- Demonstrated experience working within a Plastering trade environment or related work areas.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
- Demonstrated experience in use of hand & power tools, small machinery and tool maintenance in a trade environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.
Highly Desirable:
- Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies, in particular Microsoft excel, word and outlook.
- Demonstrated experience in following WH&S instructions such as using correct PPE and following safe operating procedures.
