About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the SeaLink Tasmania business. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and driving sustainable business growth.
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and strategic direction of the business, ensuring the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of services while fostering strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
You will lead all aspects of the business, including operations, people leadership, financial management, fleet management/customer service, sales and marketing as well as risk and safety. You will ensure contractual obligations are met, financial targets are achieved, and the business continues to identify and capitalise on opportunities for growth.
About You
You are an accomplished senior leader with a proven ability to manage complex operations and deliver strong commercial outcomes. You are equally comfortable developing strategy, leading people and building trusted relationships with employees, customers, government agencies, regulators and industry partners.
You will bring:

Outstanding leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire, develop and lead high-performing teams

Substantial experience in managing a commercial business, managing budgets, achieving and exceeding financial targets and improving operational performance

Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement

Experience managing contracts, stakeholder relationships and operational performance

Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills

Strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to align operational activities to organisational objectives

Experience working within a highly regulated environment and ensuring compliance to safety and environmental legislation

High level decision making and problem-solving abilities

Crisis management experience
