McKellar Cottage is a family-owned early childhood service located in McKellar, ACT, looking for an enthusiastic Certificate III Educator or Certificate III trainee to join our friendly, passionate and supportive team on a full-time basis.
We are proud to provide high-quality early childhood education and care in a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. Our educators work closely with families to create meaningful relationships and provide engaging, play-based learning experiences that foster each child's individual development.
Our centre caters for up to 39 children each day, supporting children from birth to 6 years of age. As a small service, we value the close connections we build with our children, families and educators, creating a genuine sense of community.
About the Role
This is a permanent full-time position where you will:
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Support children's daily routines, including meals, rest and personal care.
- Create engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and development.
- Observe and contribute to children's learning and development.
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
- Participate in programming, planning and critical reflection.
- Continue to learn and grow professionally in a positive workplace culture.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and wanting to complete a Traineeship
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- A genuine passion for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute.
- A caring, friendly and professional approach.
