Male Disability Support Worker (SIL)

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Disability Support Worker to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team.
This role involves supporting a female participant within a SIL home environment. The participant presents with complex behaviours and has an established Behaviour Support Plan (BSP). Previous experience supporting participants with mental health challenges and complex support needs is highly preferred.
We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, professional, and committed to providing high-quality support while building positive rapport with both the participant and the wider support team.
Regular Weekly Shifts:
- Monday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM followed by Inactive Sleepover (10:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
- Wednesday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM followed by Inactive Sleepover (10:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
- Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM followed by Inactive Sleepover (10:00 PM – 8:30 AM)
Additional Opportunities:
- Extra 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM shifts available
- Potential 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM day shifts available for successful applicants who establish a positive working relationship with the participant
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities and personal support
- Support community access and participation
- Follow care plans and Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)
- Maintain accurate shift notes and handovers
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Promote participant independence and wellbeing
- Ensure participant safety at all times
Requirements
- MALE SUPPORT WORKER ONLY
- Experience working within disability support and SIL settings
- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours preferred
- Mental health support experience highly regarded
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach
- Ability to work evening and inactive sleepover shifts
