Specialist Gynaecology Sonographer - Deep Endometriosis Ultrasound, HyCoSy & Early Pregnancy Ultrasound
Part-time / Casual – 1–2 days per week to start
We are seeking an experienced and motivated sonographer with a special interest in gynaecological ultrasound to join a busy specialist women's health and ultrasound service in the Macarthur region.
This is a unique opportunity for a sonographer who wants to develop advanced skills in deep endometriosis scanning, adenomyosis assessment, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain imaging, HyCoSy, saline infusion sonography within a highly specialised clinical environment.
Training and mentorship will be provided in advanced endometriosis and adenomyosis scanning techniques.
About the role
This is a part-time casual position, initially 1–2 days per week, with the opportunity to increase sessions as the service grows. Must be able to work Fridays.
The role would suit a sonographer who already has solid experience in gynaecological ultrasound and is looking to move beyond routine pelvic scanning into a more specialised and clinically meaningful area of practice.
You will be involved in:
- Transvaginal and transabdominal gynaecological ultrasound
- Advanced endometriosis ultrasound assessment
- Adenomyosis assessment
- Ovarian cyst and adnexal pathology assessment
- Pre-operative mapping for complex gynaecological surgery
- HyCoSy / tubal patency assessment
- Saline infusion sonography / sonohysterography
- Early pregnancy assessment, including viability, location, miscarriage assessment and pregnancy of unknown location where clinically appropriate
- Liaising with the specialist clinician regarding findings and clinical relevance
- Helping build a high-quality, patient-centred specialist ultrasound service
Essential requirements
- Current registration with ASAR is required at the time of application.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a qualified sonographer
- A positive team-player attitude
- Australian work rights required (citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
- Demonstrated experience in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound
- Advanced competency in transvaginal ultrasound techniques is required for this role
- Strong interest in women's health and advanced gynae imaging
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism and a compassionate patient manner
- High attention to detail
Highly regarded
- Prior experience in performing endometriosis ultrasound assessment, HyCoSy procedures, and saline infusion sonography
- Interest in developing advanced reporting and mapping skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a specialist clinician

About you
You are an experienced sonographer with solid gynaecological ultrasound skills, including transvaginal scanning, and a genuine interest in advanced women's imaging.
You may be working in general imaging, women's imaging, fertility ultrasound or a specialist practice, but are looking for a more focused gynaecology role.
You will ideally enjoy complex diagnostic work, communicate well with patients, and have an interest in endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic pain and fertility-related ultrasound. Endometriosis ultrasound experience is highly desirable, but training and mentorship will be provided for the right candidate.
