Where you'll be working
John Hunter Hospital (JHH) Physiotherapy Department provides services to John Hunter Hospital, Rankin Park Centre (RPC) and Belmont District Hospital (BDH), as well as a secondment program to HNELHD regional and rural sites to assist with workforce planning and service delivery. The Physiotherapy department is committed to providing high quality and innovated services to meet the needs of patients and the community and values the input of all staff members.
The opportunity
This position is a Senior Clinician Specialist Level 4 Physiotherapist responsible for delivering high quality, advanced physiotherapy services within Neurosurgical Spinal outpatient services by providing expert assessment, triage, and management of patients with complex spinal conditions. The Physiotherapist will work in a multidisciplinary environment with Neurosurgeons, nursing and administrative support to facilitate patient access to appropriate care pathways, support efficient use of neurosurgical services, and provide professional leadership and clinical expertise for patients on the Neurosurgical Outpatient waitlist.
This 1.26 FTE position is permanent and will consist of three ( 0.42FTE (16hpw) positions across a weekday roster. Workdays will be negotiable.
About you
JHH Physiotherapy are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced senior Physiotherapist with strong leadership, time management, and organisational skills to ensure the provision of a safe, patient centred, innovative and high quality physiotherapy services in the Neurosurgical Outpatient clinics at JHH.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills and clinical expertise in the assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal and spinal conditions, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar presentations, within acute, outpatient or specialist service settings. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability and commitment to work collaboratively, build, and maintain cooperative professional and therapeutic relationships, foster innovation, adapt to change, and achieve health service outcomes.
The successful applicant will be supported by the Physiotherapy Service Manager and Deputy Service Manager, Level 4 Outpatient Team Leader Physiotherapist, as well as the Neurosurgical Outpatient team. JHH Physiotherapy provide a clinical supervision program and will provide leadership and clinical mentorship for the successful applicant.
