CPP Civil
CPP have a dedicated in-house Civil construction department that plays a critical role in project delivery, providing scoping, estimating, management, and construction of civil works across transmission lines, renewables, and utility projects—giving us greater control over key project components.
Our capabilities include access tracks, roads, structural foundations, cable trenches, conduits, oil containment, and site infrastructure such as laydown areas and facilities. We also manage bulk earthworks, drainage, fencing, and signage, ensuring seamless integration of civil works into every project we deliver.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to take a key role in the site-based delivery of substation and associated civil infrastructure projects across QLD.
This is a hands-on site role where you will take ownership of civil works packages from planning through to completion. You will oversee and coordinate concrete, structural steel, earthworks and associated civil works, ensuring delivery is aligned with project drawings, specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors and client representatives, you will provide technical leadership, resolve site-based engineering challenges and help drive the successful delivery of the project. You will also oversee QA/QC requirements, including inspections, test reports, documentation and handover packs to ensure a seamless transition to the electrical team and client.
As a senior member of the project team, you will provide guidance and support to Project and Site Engineers, while contributing to construction planning, subcontractor management, progress tracking and overall project performance.
The role operates on a rostered swing, typically 10/4. Projects generally run between 5–10 months, with the opportunity to move between projects as work is completed.
This opportunity would suit an experienced civil engineer who enjoys being on site and close to project delivery, is confident taking ownership of their scope, and is looking to continue progressing toward Project Management and broader project leadership roles.
Skills and Experiences:
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrated Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer experience within civil construction, infrastructure, utilities or energy projects
- Strong site-based delivery experience across concrete, structural steel, earthworks and associated civil works
- Sound knowledge of construction drawings, technical specifications, QA/QC processes and project documentation
