We’re looking for a Full-Time Early Childhood Teacher who thrives in a collaborative, child-centred preschool environment and takes pride in creating inclusive, play-based learning experiences that help every child develop and thrive.
This is a Permanent Full-Time role working Monday to Friday in Peakhurst, NSW. The preschool operates from 8.00am-4.00pm during school terms and provides a high-quality inclusive early childhood program for children aged 3 to 5 years and their families. All education staff are required to be available between 7.50am-4.30pm to cover rostered shifts and be available for fortnightly staff meetings after preschool operational hours.
Reporting to the Head of Early Education, you will work closely with the Preschool Leadership Team and Early Education Team to lead and coordinate the educational program. You will build positive relationships with children and families, collaborate with allied health professionals and external stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement in education, care, safety and compliance.

Educational Program and Practice
- Support, extend and maintain the educational program with the Preschool Leadership Team, implementing the preschool philosophy and play-based programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Plan, implement and evaluate responsive programs based on children’s interests, abilities and cultural identities, using flexible learning spaces, intentional teaching, daily routines, critical reflection and sustainable practice.
- Develop individualised learning plans with families and external professionals, and diligently track each child’s evolving goals through their Analysis of Learnings.
Children, Families and Teamwork

- Create an inclusive environment that reflects cultural diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; engage in children’s play; support emotional literacy, social justice and inclusion; and model developmental skills.
- Build trusting partnerships with families, use total communication, provide sensitive updates on each child’s progress, support new enrolments and meet-and-greet sessions, and collaborate on ILP and IFSP plans.
- Work collaboratively with educators, allied health professionals and external stakeholders; contribute observations and ideas; provide alternative solutions or referrals where appropriate; and support the induction of new staff, students and volunteers.
Quality, Child Safety and Compliance
- Act as the Responsible Person as required and apply the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, the National Quality Framework, Child Protection Law including Mandatory Reporting, Child Safe Standards, the ECA Code of Ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- Contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan and self-assessment so the preschool achieves at least Meeting National Quality Standard, complete compliance requirements within agreed timeframes, and help keep complaints to a minimum through prompt, respectful resolution.
- Protect confidentiality and records security, follow emergency and WHS procedures, meet children’s health needs, support a zero incident and injury culture, and complete required documentation, reflection and professional development.
About You
You are an inclusive and reflective Early Childhood Teacher with solid theoretical and practical knowledge of early childhood development and educational best practice. You build warm, respectful relationships and bring initiative, collaboration and a commitment to continuous learning.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent, such as a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education).
- Current accreditation as a Proficient Teacher with the NSW Education Standards Authority.
- Strong knowledge of current early education and care legislation and regulations, the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard.
- Current ACECQA-approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates, ACECQA-approved Child Protection training, and Child Safe Training from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearances.
- A demonstrated commitment to working in partnership with families, educators, allied health professionals and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organisation and documentation skills, with initiative and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement.
- The ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including regular travel as required and safely lifting and carrying up to 10kg.
