We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and motivated Accounts / Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional studying accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline to gain practical experience within a diverse multi-venue business.
This is a part-time position under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020, classified as Clerical Grade 2 (Wage Level 3) = $27.97/hr, offering 15 hours per week, with flexibility available around university or study commitments.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Process and code supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match supplier invoices with supporting documentation and approvals.
- Assist with supplier payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Respond to supplier and internal finance-related enquiries.
- Assist with credit card and expense reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and document filing systems.
- Support month-end finance processes and audit requirements.
- Complete data entry and general administrative duties.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.
- Assist the Finance team with ad hoc projects and administrative support.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Current studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment.
