Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. Australia’s energy system is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history and we’re right there with it. We’re investing in and developing large-scale renewables and storage projects as part of our ongoing effort to provide our customers with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.
About the role
As a Customer Service Representative, you'll work in our inbound contact centre, helping customers over the phone with a wide range of enquiries related to their energy account.
No two conversations are the same. One call might involve helping a customer move house and connect their energy, while the next could involve setting up a payment plan, resolving a billing enquiry, or supporting a customer experiencing financial hardship.
You'll spend most of your day speaking with customers, navigating multiple systems and finding solutions that deliver a positive outcome in a fast-paced contact centre environment. Some calls are straightforward, while others require patience, empathy and strong problem-solving skills. You'll be supported with comprehensive training, ongoing coaching and a collaborative team environment to help you build confidence and succeed in the role.
Why you’ll love working here
At Alinta Energy, we’re taking real action to deliver reliable and sustainable energy for Australia - and that practical approach runs through everything we do. You’ll get clear direction, genuine flexibility, and the support you need to grow, all while working on projects that make a lasting difference. We’re big enough to create impact, but small enough that your ideas and effort will always be seen.
There are plenty of other great benefits of working for Alinta Energy, including hybrid working, energy discounts, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), a paid volunteer day each year, fully stocked kitchens, and lots more.
What you’ll do
- Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving enquiries on the first call and exceeding key performance metrics.
- Engage in quality conversations that reflect our customer experience principles and support vulnerable customers with empathy and care.
- Take ownership of customer queries, identify repeat call drivers, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Handle challenging conversations with professionalism, referring customers to appropriate support channels when needed.
- Participate in training and upskilling sessions to stay aligned with evolving business needs.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to drive meaningful customer outcomes.
Your experience
