Venue Manager – Popular Café | Sunshine Coast
We’re looking for an exceptional Venue Manager to lead one of the Sunshine Coast’s most loved hospitality venues.
This role is for someone who genuinely loves hospitality - the people, the pace, the standards, and wants real ownership of a venue, not micromanagement.
About the Venue
We operate Stoa and One Block Back, established, design-led venues known for quality food, coffee, wine and a strong local following.
Stoa is our newer concept - relaxed, refined and social.
The Role
As Venue Manager, you’ll run the venue as if it’s your own (with strong support behind you).
You will be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring and motivating a large front-of-house team
- Rostering, staffing levels and wage control
- Delivering exceptional customer experience, every service
- Training staff to a high standard and maintaining consistency
- Managing ordering, stock, suppliers and invoicing
- Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and operational standards
- Working closely with the owner on performance, systems, and growth
This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be visible on the floor, especially during busy services.
Hours & Availability
- Full-time role, 5 days per week
- Weekends are an absolute must
- Daytime hours only — finish by 2:30pm every day
About You
You’re someone who:
- Has proven experience as a Venue Manager or strong Assistant Manager
- Leads with confidence, warmth, and high standards
- Is calm under pressure and thrives in busy environments
- Understands numbers (wages, COGS, KPIs) without losing the human side
- Communicates clearly and holds people accountable
- Takes pride in presentation, service, and culture
