Chef Wanted. Full-Time.
Our busy restaurant in Carlton is looking for an experienced Chef to join our team. The goal
is to help preserve and enhance our reputation as a go-to place for dining in Carlton.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a Chef with a proven track record of 2 plus years
with a strong focus on food science and good knowledge of the fermentation of dough and
vegetables, curing and aging small goods, and have worked in a fast-paced/high-volume
service. A strong foundation of HAACP planning and documentation is essential in this role.

Responsibilities
● As an experienced Chef, you would be entrusted with assisting the Head Chef in
planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
● You would be required to monitor the quality of the dishes at all stages of preparation
and presentation
● You would be required to discuss food preparation issues with managers, dietitians,
and kitchen and waiting staff
● You would be entrusted with demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking
procedures
● Further, you would be entrusted with preparing and cooking food, explaining and
enforcing hygiene regulations, selecting and training staff, freezing and preserving
food as and when needed
Required Skills
● A minimum of a Diploma level qualification in hospitality, and at least 2 years of
experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant
● Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
● Excellent knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods. (Grilling, baking,
boiling, etc.)
● Experience with sourdough, biga and poolish bread techniques
● Strong knowledge of all sanitation procedures
Current Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate recognised in Victoria, including
competency in SITXFSA006 – Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (or equivalent)
● Very good communication skills
Remuneration package of $79,500 p.a + super
