554 Kosher Wine Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Cook to join our
kitchen team.
Working under the direction of the Head Chef, the Cook will play a key role in the day-to-day
preparation and cooking of our menu, ensuring consistently high food quality, efficient
service, and compliance with all food safety standards. This is a hands-on cooking role
within our kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistent standard, in line with recipes and
specifications set by the Head Chef
● Follow direction from the Head Chef and kosher supervision (mashgiach) regarding
ingredients, sourcing and preparation methods
● Examine foodstuffs to confirm kosher certification, quality and freshness before use
● Maintain strict kosher meat-kitchen standards at all times, including correct handling
and preparation of meat and pareve ingredients only
● Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation standards for dishes prepared
● Assist with daily food preparation and mise en place ahead of service
● Store food correctly in temperature-controlled kosher-compliant storage
● Minimise food waste through careful preparation and portioning
● Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP and WHS requirements at all times
● Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment
● Operate and regulate ovens, grills, stovetops and other commercial cooking
equipment

Requirements
● At least two years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, with focus on Kosher Cuisine
● Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
● Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
● Ability to work efficiently and follow direction in a fast-paced kitchen environment
● Good organisational and time management skills
Applicants with previous experience working in kosher kitchens will be strongly preferred.
Experience with Middle Eastern and modern Italian cuisine is also highly regarded.
Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
