About the Opportunity
We are seeking an oil and gas industry professional with a strong background in the management and successful delivery of offshore projects, including oversight on the delivery of multi-discipline engineering services, with a strong focus on the procurement and vendor management of fabricated items and high-specification equipment and offshore mobilisation.
You will be working on a variety of small to medium offshore projects. Reporting to the Project Manager/Package Lead, your key focus will be working closely with your clients and vendors, to understand their needs and to drive the implementation of cost effective and practical solutions, including the procurement, expediting and delivery of fabricated items and equipment and associated offshore mobilisation activities.
This role will provide you the opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in the planning and execution of projects, including procurement and vendor management, to safely delivering on project KPIs.
About You
You come with tertiary qualifications in the engineering field (structural or mechanical preferable) with at least 10+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
Essential attributes you will bring to this position include:
- You are well versed in managing detailed engineered design phases, and familiar with the application offshore industry design codes, standards and specifications.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and vendor/subcontractor management, including scoping and issuing RFQs/POs, evaluating tenders, and managing vendors to deliver on contractual and technical requirements.
- Proven track record managing vendor performance for the fabrication and supply of high-specification equipment and fabricated items, including proactive expediting to protect project schedule.
- Hands-on experience developing, reviewing and managing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including witness/hold point management, and coordinating inspection activities with vendors, clients and third-party inspection bodies.
- Working knowledge of quality surveillance and non-conformance management during fabrication and manufacture, including MDR/data book review and close-out.
- Experience managing offshore mobilisation activities, including pre-mobilisation inspections and checklists, coordination of equipment and personnel dispatch, and close liaison with the client's logistics team to ensure mobilisations proceed safely and on schedule.
- Experience working within a client's office and delivery work within their systems and processes.
- Proven capability of managing medium sized projects up to $5m in value, achieving project KPIs (i.e. schedule, cost, quality).
- Demonstrated offshore site experience supervising personnel is highly regarded.
- Ability to lead, influence, motivate and drive project teams.
- Experience in client facing roles highly desirable.
- You are an innovative, strategic thinker with commercial acumen.
- Experienced in cost estimating and tender/ proposal preparation.
- Experience in effective project monitoring and auditing and exhibit streamlined decision-making skills.
