What you'll be doing
As a Technical Officer, you will perform a range of laboratory investigations and technical activities using established scientific methods and procedures. You will support both diagnostic and research functions while ensuring the delivery of accurate, reliable and timely laboratory services.
Performing analytical, diagnostic and technical testing using manual and automated laboratory methods in accordance with established protocols
Managing specimen handling activities, reagent preparation, data entry, stock control and laboratory workflow processes
Monitoring, interpreting and troubleshooting quality control results to ensure accuracy and compliance with laboratory standards
Maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment to support efficient laboratory operations
Collaborating with researchers, clinicians and laboratory colleagues while contributing to scientific discussions, research outputs and continuous improvement initiatives

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of molecular biology and/or virology, including practical laboratory experience (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing) and experience handling clinical specimens.
