Senior Backend Developer Melbourne, VIC | Fast-Growing Fintech Scale-Up

What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building robust backend systems
- Developing and maintaining REST APIs and integrations
- Leading system architecture discussions and ensuring scalability
- Mentoring and guiding other developers
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver key features
- Writing clean, maintainable, and high-quality code
Skills & Experience Essential
- 3+ years professional experience in backend development
- Strong experience with Python/Django or Golang
- Experience with system design and building scalable solutions
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Proven experience designing REST APIs
- Experience with version control
- Experience prioritising and mentoring other developers
Nice to have
- Startup experience (flexible, adaptable, thrives in change)
- Programming knowledge in other languages
- Exposure to GCP or Kubernetes
- CI/CD / DevOps experience
- Mobile or web development experience
- Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban
