As Principal Advisor Finance, you will be a key business partner to PSC senior leaders, delivering high-quality, stakeholder-focused financial management services. Working with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet's Chief Financial Officer as PSC's shared service provider, you will support finance, operational and reporting processes that help the agency operate ethically, efficiently and effectively.
In this role you will:
Manage PSC's internal and external budget processes, including state budget requirements, funding allocations, budgeting principles and system configuration.
Coordinate PSC contributions to consolidated annual Budget Papers, including Service Delivery Statements and other key budget documents.
Partner with senior leaders to ensure financial management information is accurate, consistent and useful for decision-making, including cost allocation and financial performance measures.
Lead preparation of financial management reports, including forecasting, trend analysis and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
Provide high-level financial advice and analysis on complex financial management issues for internal and external stakeholders.
Lead financial training programs to build financial acumen across PSC.
Drive continuous improvement in financial management processes, systems and work practices.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a finance professional with extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial management, and demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service as a business partner. You will be comfortable managing competing deadlines and maintaining confidentiality, accuracy and integrity.
You will bring strong analytical and reporting skills, excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, SAP, Power BI, FRaMES (Tridata) or other business intelligence tools will be highly regarded. There are no mandatory qualifications, however qualifications in financial accounting and/or practical financial accounting experience will be beneficial.
