An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Spelling Farm Assistant to join our team at Camyr Allyn.
Camyr Allyn is a well-established thoroughbred spelling operation caring for upwards of 50 horses. This hands-on role will play an important part in the ongoing success of the farm and would be well suited to someone with racing stable experience who enjoys working with thoroughbreds but prefers later start times.
The successful candidate will be a reliable and enthusiastic team player with strong communication and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of horse care.
- General care and handling of spelling thoroughbreds
- Feeding, rugging, grooming and monitoring horses
- Assisting with routine veterinary and farrier visits
- Supporting other equine service providers as required
- Maintaining clean, safe and well-organised yards, stables and work areas
- Monitoring horse health, condition and behaviour
- Working independently and as part of the broader farm team
- Previous experience working with thoroughbred racehorses or in a spelling environment
- Competence in all aspects of day-to-day horse care
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work autonomously and follow instructions
- A reliable, practical and professional approach
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
This is a casual position, with hours available across the working week and weekends.
