The Social Inclusion and Vocational College department is dedicated to supporting students who face barriers to mainstream education by providing inclusive, flexible, and supportive learning environments. The department focuses on re-engaging young people through a combination of tailored educational programs, vocational training, and holistic wellbeing support. With a strong emphasis on practical learning, employability skills, and personal development, the department empowers students to build confidence, achieve meaningful qualifications, and transition successfully into further education, training, or employment. At its core, the department is committed to fostering equity, belonging, and long-term positive outcomes for all students.
The Education Manager provides educational leadership and operational support to ensure the effective planning, delivery and quality assurance of training programs across the department. The role contributes to strategic planning, operational management and business development activities to ensure departmental service targets and contractual obligations are achieved.
Working closely with the Head of Department, the Education Manager supports compliance with VCAA, VRQA and Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards and funding requirements by implementing and monitoring compliance processes, overseeing faculty data, and liaising with Education Managers and senior education staff to ensure consistency and quality in course delivery.
The role manages a range of courses to ensure curriculum development, delivery, assessment, resourcing and student outcomes align with Institute policies, relevant training packages and regulatory requirements, while working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver high-quality education and services to client groups.
As an Education Manager, you will:

Oversee the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of innovative and high-quality Social Inclusion programs, foundation programs, the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Recruit, induct, supervise, and support teaching and non-teaching staff. Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide professional development. Guide staff in classroom management, maintaining vocational competence, and developing engaging learning and assessment resources.

Monitor and maintain compliance with VCAA, VRQA and ASQA standards, training packages, and Holmesglen’s Training and Assessment System. Ensure effective validation, moderation, audit readiness, and smooth implementation of training package transitions.

Oversee learner administration processes such as enrolments, timetabling, pre-training reviews, and LLN assessments. Track learner progress, manage RPL and credit transfer applications, and implement support strategies to improve retention and completion.

Foster a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student participation, engagement and success by ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities, coordinating appropriate support interventions, and embedding inclusive practices across all programs.
To be successful, you’ll have:

An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed; and

An approved course of adult teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 or AQF Level 6 with:

studies in adult learning methodology
-
studies in teaching in a Vocational Education environment
-
studies in Applied Research
-
200 hours of supervised practicum.

WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months
Desirable to have:

A higher degree, or post graduate qualifications, in a relevant field , such as social work, psychology, disability or inclusive education,

Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or eligibility for registration.
