About the opportunity
Werribee Mercy Hospital provides the main paediatric service for a rapidly growing and culturally diverse population in Melbourne’s west. Our service is busy, hands-on, and strongly team-based, with a focus on practical clinical care and supporting trainees to develop confidence and independence.
Applications are invited for eligible medical officers to join our 2027 Paediatric team at Mercy Health (Werribee Campus).
We have numerous twelve (12) month positions available commencing on 1st February 2027.
Mercy Health has a number of HMO (PGY3+) Paediatric positions suitable for those applicants who have obtained their General Registration with AHPRA.
Mercy health also offers general positions with 6 month paediatrics + 6months general rotation. This would involve a separate application via our General Stream
This is a full-time role on a rotating roster, offering exposure across multiple areas of paediatric practice, including:
Teaching & Support
We place a strong emphasis on registrar development and education. The role includes:
3 hours of teaching per week
Close consultant supervision with opportunities for graded autonomy
Involvement in bedside teaching, case discussions, and clinical reviews
A supportive environment with approachable senior staff and a collaborative team culture
About You:
Hold general registration as a medical practitioner by commencement of 2027 Clinical Year
Equipped with excellent communication skills and promote the Mercy Values of Compassion, Hospitality, Respect, Innovation, Stewardship and Teamwork.
Enthusiastic and motivated to make a real contribution to the provision of high quality care to an ethnically diverse, rapidly growing community
Interested in gaining Paediatric experience
For these positions, enrolment in the Sydney Child Health Program or diploma of Child health are encouraged
