Your new role:
The Fellowship in Stroke Medicine provides for sub-specialty training in hyperacute stroke management, as well as subacute and long-term stroke medicine. The Fellow oversees the day-to-day operation of the Stroke unit and provides medical services to all patients presenting to the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient services within the designated stroke unit. On request, the Fellow should provide a consultative service to other departments. It is expected that the Fellow will be involved in the professional development of junior medical staff, clinical audits, research and in the education of medical students.
About you:
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and unrestricted registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or successful completion of 3 years of Advanced Training in Cardiology with the RACP. Current or recent (within 12 months of fellowship commencement) practice or training in clinical and interventional/cath lab based cardiology.
