About the role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH), part of Melbourne Health, is a world-class teaching hospital and one of Victoria’s largest Trauma Centres. Ward 3SW provides care for Elective & Acute Surgical patients with Colorectal, Hepatobilliary & Abdominal Trauma patients. We are a 20-bed ward with supportive Multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking a Ward Clerk to provide high-quality administrative and clerical support within the Acute surgical ward. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be a key point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, supporting the coordination of patient admissions, discharges and transfers while ensuring accurate maintenance of patient records and effective day-to-day operations.
Key Accountabilities
Provide administrative and clerical support, maintaining accurate patient records.
Deliver professional, patient-focused service to patients, visitors and staff.
Support patient admissions, discharges and transfers with the multidisciplinary team.
Liaise with clinical, support and hospital teams, patients and families.
Coordinate reception and administrative tasks to support efficient ward operations.
About You
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant administration experience and sound computer skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Patient-focused approach with a commitment to positive experiences
Ability to prioritise, use initiative and work effectively in a busy environment
Flexible, reliable and receptive to direction and learning
