About the Role
Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of infrastructure projects, we are seeking an experienced Building Associate to support our engineering and project delivery teams.
This position is responsible for coordinating technical aspects of construction projects, assisting with project planning, reviewing building documentation, conducting site inspections and ensuring construction activities are completed in accordance with engineering specifications, Australian Standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers and project managers in coordinating civil, structural and infrastructure construction projects from planning through to completion.
- Review engineering drawings, construction documentation and technical specifications to ensure project requirements are accurately implemented.
- Undertake site inspections to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with approved plans, engineering designs and quality standards.
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to facilitate the timely delivery of project milestones.
- Monitor construction activities to identify technical issues and assist in implementing practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare project documentation, inspection reports, site records and progress updates for internal and client reporting.
- Assist with the coordination of material deliveries, site resources and construction scheduling.
- Support quality assurance processes by verifying workmanship and ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and environmental obligations.
- Assist with contract administration, project coordination and engineering support across civil, structural, marine and infrastructure projects.
Essential Requirements
- Diploma or higher qualification in Building, Construction, Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum two years of relevant full-time experience in the building, construction or civil engineering industry.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting engineering drawings and construction documentation.
- Strong understanding of Australian building practices, construction methodologies and relevant Australian Standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using construction or project management software will be highly regarded.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
