A highly regarded Australian retail business is looking for an experienced Merchandise Planner to join their growing Planning team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Planner who thrives in a fast paced apparel environment and loves being close to the product, trade and decision making.
Working closely with Buying, Digital and Supply Chain teams, you will take ownership of planning and trading a key merchandise department across stores and online. This role will suit someone who enjoys being hands on with the numbers, influencing strategy and driving commercial outcomes through strong analysis and forecasting.
What you will be responsible for:
- Managing sales, stock, markdown, margin and OTB plans across your department
- Driving in season trading performance through forecasting, analysis and re-planning
- Partnering closely with Buying and broader stakeholders on range performance, allocations and inventory management
- Providing detailed analysis around sales, size curves, colour performance and stock optimisation
- Presenting trade performance and recommendations at weekly trading meetings
- Managing aged stock and supporting markdown strategies to maximise profitability
What we are looking for:
- Previous Merchandise Planning experience within apparel retail
- Strong understanding of OTB, forecasting, allocations and inventory management
- Highly commercial with strong analytical capability
- Ability to work collaboratively across Planning, Buying and Digital teams
- Someone who enjoys a fast moving, hands on retail environment
- Ladieswear apparel experience will be highly regarded
