BildGroup is a privately owned Australian construction and infrastructure business operating nationally across civil infrastructure, major projects, government and defence, urban services, sports, survey and landscape. Major Projects is being established as a standalone division - a deliberate structural move that reflects both the scale of the work we are pursuing and our ambition for where this part of the business goes next. This is the role that leads it.
The Opportunity
Full P&L accountability. Direct line to the CEO. A seat on the Executive. And a portfolio that spans large-scale civil works, government infrastructure, defence and strategic alliance and joint venture pursuits - nationally.
This role carries a significant external dimension that sets it apart from most GM roles in the market. You will represent BildGroup at the highest levels of client governance - Project Executive Committees, Alliance Leadership Teams, Joint Venture partner Steering Committees and key client forums. The relationships you build and maintain in these environments are central to BildGroup's standing and future pipeline.
You are not stepping into an established division with fixed rhythms and a set team. You are building one. The pursuit agenda, the team structure, the client relationships, the culture - these are yours to shape. That level of genuine founding influence at GM level, backed by a private business with the appetite to invest, is rare.
What You Will Own
Strategic direction and P&L performance of the Major Projects division nationally
Safe, on-time, on-budget delivery across a complex multi-project portfolio
Pursuit strategy across government, defence and major civil infrastructure - pipeline ownership from identification through to contract award
BildGroup's representation on Project Executive Committees, Alliance Leadership Teams, JV Steering Committees and client forums
Capability and culture of a specialist team - recruiting, developing and positioning the right people for what is coming next
A contributing voice at Executive level - strategy, culture and commercial direction across BildGroup as a whole
What You Bring
You have led a major civil division or business unit - ideally at a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor - and you know what it takes to hold a complex portfolio without losing grip on delivery, numbers or people simultaneously. You have won work at scale in government, defence or major infrastructure environments, and you understand the distinct disciplines of alliance and joint venture contracting.
Comfortable in client governance forums and equally comfortable in a budget review, you build trust quickly at all levels. You bring perspective to an Executive table that extends beyond your own division - and the credibility to have it heard.
Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management or a related field are advantageous. Defence sector experience and security clearance eligibility will strengthen your application.

An executive remuneration package commensurate with the scope of the role, comprising a competitive base salary in line with senior construction executive market rates, superannuation, and performance incentives tied to divisional outcomes. We are looking for a long-term leader, not a short-term hire, and we structure accordingly.
