Primary objective
Provide comprehensive, confidential, high level administrative and operational support to the Market Engagement Executive
and broader team.
Context statement
The Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations is focused on driving investment and trade opportunities through
international engagement. It also plays an essential role in driving workforce development to support business. The
incumbent will require strong administrative skills and experience. Attention to detail, and strong organisation and time
management skills are critical attributes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work collaboratively within the Market Engagement Branch, providing administrative and operational support to ensure
timely and effective service delivery.
2. Coordinate and assist in the preparation of briefings, reports, general correspondence, records management, business
systems management, meeting preparation, including agendas, collating papers and taking minutes.
3. Manage a range of procurement functions including travel arrangements, general purchasing, liaising with suppliers,
organising payment including credit card transactions.
4. Maintain strong and effective relationships with all levels of staff within the agency, external agencies and outside
organisations to support the day-to-day operations of the Strategic Engagement Branch.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven effective administrative and organisational experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under
pressure, priorities task and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, professionally and diplomatically, including the ability to prepare
correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail.
3. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, use initiative, adapt to change and be self-motivated.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in standard office software including word processing, spreadsheets, email
and Microsoft Teams.
5. Current NT drivers licence or ability to obtain.
