THE POSITION:
Fairfield City Golf & Range is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Golf Operations Team Leader to lead our customer service team and support the day-to-day operation of our golf course and driving range.
This is an exciting hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced golf industry professional looking to take the next step in their career. Working across the Pro Shop, driving range, memberships, competitions and golf operations, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving participation and growth across the facility.
You will lead daily operations, develop a small team, administer golf competitions, oversee golf cart and driving range operations, support membership growth and ensure the facility is presented to the highest standard for members and visitors.
Preference will be given to applicants who are current PGA of Australia Members, ideally holding Certified status under the PGA's ACE (Accreditation and Continuing Education) Program.
ESSENTIAL:
- Demonstrated experience within a golf shop, golf club or golf operations environment.
- Experience leading and supervising staff in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience administering golf competitions using MiClub/Micropower or similar golf management systems.
- Sound knowledge of golf operations, the Rules of Golf and golf etiquette.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling and financial reconciliation.
- Experience managing memberships, bookings and customer enquiries.
- Computer literacy and competence in business systems.
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours as required
DESIRABLE:
- Current PGA of Australia Membership
- Certified PGA Professional under the PGA ACE Program.
- Experience in golf coaching, tuition or junior golf development programs.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent position, 35 hours per week.
- This position is a Grade 5, with a commencing hourly rate of $49.23.per hour.
- Standard Hours of Work: Between 6am to 7pm Monday to Sunday. However, commencing and finishing times will vary and depend on operational needs. Initially the hours will be 7am – 5pm weekdays and 6.30am – 5pm on weekends. Extended hours in peak periods 6am – 10pm
