D & J Estate Pty Ltd is an established South Australian agricultural operations services business providing contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural services to commercial growers and agricultural enterprises across South Australia.
Since 2015, D & J Estate has delivered vineyard and orchard maintenance, pruning, canopy management, crop cultivation and maintenance, harvesting and related production services under commercial service agreements with its clients.
D & J Estate plans, coordinates, supervises and delivers these services through its own management and supervisory structure and directly employed workforce.

The Role
D & J Estate is seeking an experienced Vineyard Manager (Operations) to manage and coordinate vineyard and horticultural operations across multiple contracted work sites throughout South Australia.
The role provides operational leadership to supervisors and is responsible for workforce planning, service delivery, production coordination, workplace safety and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and oversee vineyard and horticultural operations across multiple contracted work sites.
- Manage the allocation of D & J Estate personnel and operational resources in accordance with contracted work programs and seasonal requirements.
- Supervise and provide direction to Vineyard Supervisors and Horticultural Supervisors or Specialists.
- Coordinate vineyard production activities including pruning, canopy management, irrigation, harvesting and associated horticultural activities.
- Monitor productivity, workforce utilisation, operational efficiency, service quality and cost performance.
- Liaise with growers, vineyard operators and agricultural clients regarding work programs, site requirements, production schedules and service delivery.
- Ensure workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures are implemented across operational sites.
- Coordinate equipment, tools and materials and prepare operational and workforce performance reports.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- A relevant AQF Diploma or higher qualification, or equivalent; alternatively, at least 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in vineyard, horticultural or agricultural operations at the appropriate skill level.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating agricultural operations and supervising operational teams.
- Sound practical knowledge of vineyard operations and/or horticultural production.
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work across multiple operational sites throughout South Australia.
Employment Conditions
- Permanent full-time employment with D & J Estate Pty Ltd.
- Salary: AUD $85,000–$95,000 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
- Employment entitlements provided in accordance with applicable Australian workplace laws and the National Employment Standards.
- The position requires travel to and work across multiple contracted vineyard, horticultural and agricultural sites throughout South Australia.
