Opportunity
We are looking for a Retail Manager to join our dynamic team at Guzman y Gomez Kings Cross, NSW 2011.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing team. You will be responsible for achieving business objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and workplace health and safety requirements.
The main tasks of a Retail Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, organising, directing and coordinating the overall daily operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient service delivery and achievement of business objectives.
- Managing and supervising restaurant staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering, performance management, and ongoing development.
- Monitoring customer service standards and resolving customer enquiries and complaints promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Managing inventory levels by ordering stock, monitoring deliveries, minimising waste, and ensuring adequate stock availability.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and company operational procedures.
- Monitoring financial performance, including sales, labour costs, food costs, budgets, and profitability, and implementing strategies to improve business performance.
- Preparing operational reports, maintaining accurate business records, and analysing sales trends to support decision-making.
- Coordinating promotional activities, local marketing initiatives, and in-store merchandising to maximise sales opportunities.
- Ensuring the restaurant maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and employees at all times.
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors, and senior management to ensure smooth restaurant operations and continuous improvement.
- Implementing company policies and operational procedures while maintaining consistent brand standards across all aspects of the business.
- Leading by example to foster a positive team culture focused on operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Education and Previous Experience Required
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of full-time work experience as a Retail Manager, Restaurant Manager, Fast Food Manager, or in a closely related management role.

Working Arrangements
- Work Type: Full-time & Permanent
- Working Hours: 38 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
- Shifts: Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Salary: $80,000 per year plus superannuation
