About the role
Reporting to the Technical Survey Manager, you'll be responsible for the survey and set-out of civil construction projects, working closely with site personnel, sub-contractors and clients to keep multiple projects moving and on track.
What you'll be doing
Reviewing project specifications and drawings ahead of site works
Planning and coordinating survey set-out, factoring in project continuity and machinery/contractor use
Ensuring all works are set out in strict accordance with project drawings and specifications
Preparing DTMs ready for use in graders
Working with the Site Supervisor/Construction Manager on efficient peg placement, including non-standard situations
Completing all electronic/computer-based calculations ahead of arriving on site
Communicating clearly with site personnel and providing documented advice where needed
Maintaining and securing survey equipment
Supporting a strong safety culture and flagging any unsafe practices or conditions
Pitching in with training and other duties as needed across the team
Skills and Experiences:
What you'll bring
Essential:
Current driver's licence (Class C)
General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar, with proven experience at party leader level in civil construction
Strong communication, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding timeframes
Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and surveying software
Desirable:
Working knowledge of the civil construction industry
Understanding of Quality Systems and WHS requirements
RePL Licence
