About the opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity in which you will be responsible for efficient and effective administration of site Quality requirements as we ramp up production for a major infrastructure project. Your responsibilities will include ensuring QA system compliance and effective QC implementation; providing assistance during internal and external quality audits and ensuring product manufactured daily is in accordance with Australian and Main Roads standards.
Further and detailed responsibilities are found in the position description which is available upon request and will include:
- Generating appropriate reports to assist management with the tracking of QSI costs weekly.
- Ensuring all testing standards are being met.
- Developing and managing the QA schedule.
- Working with the maintenance supervisor to ensure all moulds are set up correctly.
- Ensuring inventory stocks are correct for all product manufactured.
- Ensuring all new products manufactured weekly are checked and are in compliance with relevant standards.
- Working with leading hands and Supervisors to ensure product quality (dimensions, finish, correct inventory) are compliant.
- Conducting materials testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
About you:
- Qualifications in Quality Control and or relevant Engineering disciplines would be highly regarded.
- A sound understanding of Mechanical or Civil Engineering principles.
- Practical experience in the prestress, precast or reinforced concrete industry will be highly regarded but experience in related industries e.g. civil construction/ heavy industrial manufacturing and similar also considered.
- Interested in Project Management, delivering projects from infancy to final completion.
- Strong problem-solving ability and an ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Highly effective communication skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a given and you will be helped by your ability to maintain effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
