Drainer
At INSITE MAINTENANCE (AUST) PTY LTD, we are looking for a skilled Drainer to work on a full-time basis (at least 40 hours per week).
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Installing, repairing, and maintaining underground drainage systems, stormwater pipelines, sewer lines, and associated fittings across commercial and industrial maintenance projects;
· Inspecting drainage infrastructure to identify blockages, leaks, pipe damage, and flow issues, and carrying out rectification works to restore system functionality;
· Reading and interpreting site plans, service layouts, and construction drawings to determine pipe locations, drainage gradients, and installation requirements;
· Excavating, positioning, and connecting drainage pipes, pits, channels, and related components while ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards;
· Conducting routine maintenance and emergency response works for drainage and plumbing systems within commercial facilities, industrial sites, and managed assets;
· Using specialised tools and equipment to clear blocked drains, test drainage systems, and perform fault-finding activities to minimise operational disruptions;
· Assisting with preventative maintenance programs by monitoring the condition of drainage assets and reporting defects, deterioration, or potential risks requiring attention;
· Maintaining accurate service records, work reports, and site documentation relating to drainage repairs, inspections, and completed maintenance activities;
· Coordinating with plumbers, maintenance personnel, contractors, and site representatives to ensure drainage works are completed efficiently and within operational schedules;
· Following workplace health and safety procedures, including confined space requirements, excavation safety, and environmental management practices during all drainage operations.
Requirement:
- Relevant qualification or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Ability to prioritise maintenance and installation tasks, respond to urgent drainage issues, and complete works within required project timeframes.
- Strong understanding of drainage systems, underground pipework, stormwater infrastructure, and safe excavation practices.
- Positive, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
