Midcoast Truck Bodies, part of the family owned Midcoast Trucks Group, is based in Macksville on the North Coast of NSW halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, only 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour. We are seeking an organised and proactive Procurement & Warehouse Coordinator to join our fabrication workshop team. This key role is responsible for ensuring materials, components, consumables and parts are ordered, received, stored and issued efficiently to support production schedules and customer deadlines.
You will be the vital link between suppliers, the warehouse, and our fabrication team, helping ensure jobs are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, steel, aluminium, electrical components, hardware and workshop consumables.
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and delivery timeframes.
- Raise purchase orders and track incoming orders.
- Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming goods.
- Manage warehouse inventory and stock levels.
- Coordinate stocktakes and inventory control processes.
- Pick and distribute materials and components to fabrication teams.
- Monitor lead times and identify supply issues before they impact production.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within company systems.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness, organisation and compliance with WHS requirements.
- Assist with transport and freight coordination as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, warehousing, stores, or inventory management.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, automotive or heavy vehicle environment.
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
- Ability to read and understand parts lists, bills of materials and workshop requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Forklift Licence.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of fabrication, engineering, truck body building or heavy vehicle parts and materials.
- Current Driver's Licence.
