Our teams work across a diverse portfolio of maintenance, outage and network upgrade programs, helping keep communities connected and powered.
We're looking for an experienced HSE Operations Manager to be a trusted operational partner and lead HSE across our national Utilities O&M business. This permanent full-time position can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

About the role
You’ll be the go-to HSE leader for our national Utilities O&M business. Leading a team of HSE and training professionals, you'll work alongside operational leaders to improve health, safety and environmental performance across a diverse portfolio of utility O&M contracts.
This is a hands-on role where you'll spend your time supporting projects, solving problems, building capability and helping teams manage risk. You'll work closely with our workforce, contractors, clients, JV and Alliance partners to drive positive HSE outcomes and embed UGL's One HSE Culture across the business.
Key responsibilities
Partner with operational leaders, project teams and HSE professionals to improve HSE performance across contracts, projects and operational sites.
Build HSE capability through mentoring, risk workshops and the One HSE Culture program.
Support sites and projects to identify risks, close gaps and continuously improve health, safety and environmental outcomes.
Work closely with clients, JV and Alliance partners, contractors and regulators to ensure compliance and alignment of HSE expectations and requirements.
Support assurance activities, HSE reporting, tender submissions and business improvement initiatives across the Utilities O&M portfolio.

About you
Significant experience in a similar role within electricity transmission, distribution O&M environments.
Strong capability in HSEQ management systems, risk management, assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proven experience leading complex incident investigations, audits and compliance activities.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels of an organisation.
