About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Machine Operator – CNC Turret Punch to join our Silos SA division, based at Sheaoak Log. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and troubleshooting CNC turret punch presses and other manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality components. This hands-on role is suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC turret punch presses and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules to determine job requirements.
Select, install, and maintain tooling required for production processes.
Load and unload raw materials and finished products using appropriate handling methods and equipment.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
Perform routine machine troubleshooting and report maintenance requirements where necessary.
Conduct quality inspections and measurements to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
Complete production records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets and continuous improvement initiatives.
Undertake additional manufacturing tasks as required, including sheet metal work and assembly.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in metal bending, pressing, and roll forming.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Previous experience in a metalworking factory or similar manufacturing environment.
Experience operating and troubleshooting CNC manufacturing equipment, particularly CNC turret punch presses.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Experience with machine setup, tooling selection, and CNC programming.
Current High Risk Forklift Licence.
