About the Role
As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of motor vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. You will work in a professional workshop environment and contribute to delivering high-quality automotive services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle systems and components.
- Inspect, dismantle, and assess engines, transmissions, steering systems, braking systems, and other vehicle assemblies.
- Repair or replace defective, damaged, or worn parts and components.
- Reassemble engines and mechanical systems following repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct vehicle servicing, including oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance.
- Use diagnostic equipment and computer-based testing tools to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Perform testing and adjustments to ensure repaired vehicles meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and follow workshop procedures and safety requirements.
- Assist in vehicle inspections and identify work required to maintain roadworthiness.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle servicing and repair procedures.
- Valid driver's licence preferred.
