About the role
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Rehabilitation Unit in a Permanent Part Time (0.8 FTE / 32 hours per week) capacity.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to rehabilitation patients. You'll utilise your advanced clinical expertise to coordinate care, support patients through their recovery journey, mentor colleagues, and contribute to ongoing service improvement initiatives.
Salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and support the delivery of safe, high-quality rehabilitation care while fostering a positive team environment.
You will:
- Deliver expert clinical nursing care to patients with complex rehabilitation needs.
- Coordinate and evaluate patient care plans to support optimal health outcomes.
- Lead discharge planning processes and facilitate access to appropriate support services and resources.
- Collaborate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to ensure person-centred care.
- Provide clinical guidance, education and mentorship to nursing staff and students.
- Maintain a Level 2 clinical portfolio and contribute to ongoing professional development activities.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and AROC data collection, entry and reporting.
- Support the Nurse Unit Manager with clinical leadership, service delivery and unit-based operational activities.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, policy implementation and evidence-based practice.
- Assist with unit coordination activities, including resource allocation and workforce support.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.
About you
You are a compassionate and experienced nursing professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the development of others.
You will bring:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum five years' experience as a Registered Nurse, ideally within rehabilitation or a related specialty.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong care coordination and discharge planning experience.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the professional development of colleagues.
- Knowledge of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
- Postgraduate qualifications relevant to rehabilitation nursing will be highly regarded.
