The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Allied Health Intake Officer - Senior (Community Child Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Independently identify and plan innovative responses to complex child development services
Collate data regarding referrals, service delivery and client tracking
Ensure appropriate allocation of services to children with complex developmental and behavioural needs
Provide clinical intake and triage services for children with developmental and behavioural issues
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Tertiary degree in one of the relevant disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology (or equivalent), Social work, Speech Pathology,
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Temporary part time (up to 9 months with possibility of extension, 30.40 hours per fortnight)
Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour
About Us
The Child Development Service (CDS) is a multidisciplinary team that sits within Community Child Health under the Division of Women Newborn and Children's Health at the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
The purpose of the CDS is to clarify the reasons for a child's developmental concerns through both informal and formal assessments, ensure families have an understanding of their child's developmental needs, provide time-limited medical or allied health intervention and support the child and family to engage in longer term external support services if applicable.
