About the Role
Global Creatures is seeking an exceptional Brand & Marketing Director to lead the global brand strategy for the internationally acclaimed Moulin Rouge! The Musical (MRTM).
Based at our Sydney headquarters, this is a rare opportunity to act as the global brand guardian of one of the most successful musical theatre franchises in the world. You will shape, protect, and elevate the brand across multiple territories, ensuring consistency, creative excellence, and commercial performance across all self-produced and licensed productions.
This highly collaborative role works closely with global rights holders, international licensees, and internal teams across Australia, the UK, Asia, and Europe. It offers a unique blend of strategic leadership, global stakeholder management, and hands-on campaign oversight. Key responsibilities include:
Global Brand Leadership
- Champion and communicate the global brand vision for Moulin Rouge! The Musical across all markets
- Oversee brand governance, ensuring adherence to style guides and best practice standards worldwide
- Maintain and evolve global brand tools including Style Guides and Best Practice frameworks
- Act as a key ambassador to rights holders and partners.
Strategic Marketing & Ticketing
- Provide strategic oversight of marketing and ticketing performance, including the Australian production
- Support multi-territory campaign planning across creative, media, partnerships, and PR
- Share insights and best practice to optimise sales and audience engagement globally.
Licensee & Partner Management
- Lead onboarding and ongoing guidance for international licensee marketing teams
- Review and support sales and marketing plans for designated licensed productions
- Participate in regular international partner and licensee meetings across multiple time zones
- Monitor campaign activity to ensure brand alignment and commercial effectiveness.
Compliance & Approvals
- Oversee global approval processes for creative, marketing, and rights-related materials
- Manage music rights approvals in collaboration with legal and external consultants
- Ensure compliance with brand, legal, and licensing requirements across productions.
Communications & Reporting
- Coordinate global communications, including campaign updates and announcements
- Deliver weekly and annual reporting on global sales and marketing performance.
About You
You’re a strategic, globally experienced marketing leader who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment. You bring:
- A passion for supporting large-scale multi-marketing campaigns ideally within entertainment, theatre, events, or similar complex global brand environment.
- A strong understanding of brand governance, with the ability to balance creative excellence and consistency across multiple productions and markets
- A data driven mindset with a focus on ticketing, performance, audience insights and continuous campaign optimisation
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across international teams, rights holders, licensees, and senior partners.
- Experience navigating complex approval processes with strong attention to detail and respect for legal, rights and brand obligations.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a curiosity for improving processes, systems and global best practice.
- An empathetic and collaborative management style, with the ability to build trust and alignment across diverse teams.
Experience we require from you:
- 15+ years of related marketing experience ideally within live entertainment, theatre or global consumer brands.
- Demonstrated experience working across multi-territory or global campaigns, including collaboration with international stakeholders and partners.
- Proven experience in brand management and governance, ensuring consistency across multiple markets, teams and external partners.
- Strong experience in ticketing strategy and sales performance analysis.
- Experience working closely with legal, rights or compliance teams, in areas such as music licensing, sponsorship approvals or contractual obligations.
- Tertiary qualification in a marketing, PR, Communications or related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, Asana, Facebook Business Manager, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong reporting and presentation capability.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
