As part of VetPartners, we're looking for a commercially minded, people-first Multi-Site Business Manager to lead the Hawthorn Group clinics, consisting of Hawthorn East Vet, Kew Vet and Cattery and Alphington & Fairfield Vet. We are looking for someone who can influence performance, strengthen collaboration across sites, and contribute to the continued success of the group.
We place a big emphasis on developing the capability and confidence of all our team through a combination of hands-on experience, structured development, and strong mentorship. You will be supported with access to experienced senior leaders, a broad peer network, and centralised specialists who provide coaching across commercial acumen, people leadership, and operational excellence.
About the role
This is an influential, leadership position where you'll embed the strategic direction of three clinics while remaining grounded in the heart of veterinary practice. You will be responsible for shaping culture, driving financial growth and mentoring high performing teams to maintain an exceptional client experience.
In this role, you will:
- Lead with impact across 3 clinics.
- Drive commercial success. Take full ownership of financial performance, including delivery of key initiatives, KPIs and P&L management across the network.
- Champion growth with continuous improvement and change initiatives that elevate both clinical outcomes and operational standards.
- Empower and grow your teams whether it is through mentoring clinic teams and leveraging the broader VP network (Vet Managers, Regional Managers etc) to foster a culture of talent development, wellbeing, and professional accountability.
Who you are
Success in this role requires an authentic, confident leadership style built on the understanding that great results stem from great relationships. We are looking for someone who can walk into a busy environment, build trust quickly, and handle tricky situations with a level head and empathy. You should be just as comfortable diving into the day-to-day operational "nitty-gritty" of covering nursing and reception when needed, as you are stepping back to look at the long-term growth of the network.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- 3–5 years of experience leading teams across multiple clinics.
- Vet Nurse experience and relevant qualifications.
- A strong commercial acumen and a grasp of financial reporting, performance analysis and delivery against KPIs.
- A proven ability to guide diverse teams through periods of growth, change, and operational complexity.
- Solid experience in workforce planning, conflict resolution, and coaching for performance.
- The ability to simplify the complex and build influential relationships at every level of the business.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in business, leadership, HR, or related fields
- Experience in veterinary, healthcare, retail, or franchising environments
