Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will drive profitable growth across the Central Queensland region by developing new accounts, expanding existing contracts and exceeding budgets. The role focuses on building strong relationships with mining and energy customers while promoting core products and solutions and delivering growth plans that increase share of wallet through competitive pricing.
What you will be doing:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mining and energy customers, actively managing your territory and developing new opportunities through leads, cold calling and project tracking.
- Develop customer and competitor profiles, maintain CRM data and create targeted value propositions and growth plans to increase share of wallet.
- Execute structured call plans and consistently meet activity targets to support pipeline growth and account development.
- Deliver commercial outcomes by preparing quotes, tenders and pricing strategies aligned with policy and customer needs.
- Collaborate with sourcing and supply chain to ensure competitive product availability and fulfil contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate consignment and account records while driving sales growth and achieving budget targets.

What you will bring:
- Strong product and industry knowledge, ideally within steel, piping or similar distribution environments
- Sound understanding of mining operations and customer needs within the sector
- Proven sales experience with a solid track record of achieving and exceeding targets
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Highly results-driven, with strong planning, reporting, and organisational capabilities
The successful candidate will ideally be based in the Mackay region. Rockhampton or Emerald are also suitable locations.
