About the Role
Contributing to a safe environment for patients, staff, and Visiting Medical Practitioners, your role will involve:, but is not limited to;
-
Transport of patients throughout hospital, network and to other medical facilities within the metro area.

Assess patient for appropriate method of transfer either by wheelchair or stretcher.

Assist in the day-to-day operations of patient flow within the hospital.

Maintains patient and materials manual handling competency.
-
Checks and replaces gas and oxygen cylinders as needed in transport vehicle.
-
Removes rubbish and soiled linen.
-
Cleans transport vehicle and equipment and completes all vehicle checks as required.
-
Carries out other duties as directed by the Manager.

Class C drivers licence
About You
The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with a client-first attitude and a strong desire to support our staff and patients in achieving the best possible outcomes.
You will also bring:

Certificate III in Health Services /Aged Care or equivalent desirable

Knowledge in the following areas of Manual Handling, Occupational Safety and Health practices, Infection Control and Housekeeping Protocols, and Usage of cleaning equipment

Ability to perform a physically demanding role.

Self-motivated and able to work effectively following directions.
Remuneration: Base Hourly Rates in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

In this vital role, you will help ensure a safe, efficient and supportive environment for patients, staff and Visiting Medical Practitioners. You will play a key role in the smooth movement of patients throughout the hospital, local network and to other medical facilities within the metro area.
Your duties in this role will involve, but are not limited to:

Deliver respectful, patient-focused service

Manoeuver stretchers in and out of the transport vehicle

Assess patient for appropriate method of transfer either by wheelchair or stretcher

Assist in the day-to-day operations of patient flow within the hospital

Maintain patient and material manual handling competency

Check and replace gas and oxygen cylinders as needed in transport vehicle

Removes rubbish and soiled linen

Cleans transport vehicle and equipment and completes all vehicle checks as required

The role involves safely operating a Mercedes Sprinter vehicle to transport patients. It also includes the proper use of Ferno stretchers and performing manual handling tasks, such as transferring patients from a bed to a stretcher.
