NSW Fair Trading is looking for a Senior Insights Advisor to join our Insights unit within Regulatory Intelligence, Data & Insights Division of NSW Fair Trading.

About the team
The Insights unit is a highly motivated and specialist team which leads and manages the design, analysis, and reporting of customer research initiatives to inform regulatory measures, promote community protection and market fairness.
The role includes hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement to attend the McKell office (Haymarket) once per week, and Parramatta office (4PSQ) once per week and on an as-needed basis.
Your day-to-day
-Lead end-to-end customer research (from design, analysis, insights reporting and communication) on the perception and behaviour of the customer to inform strategic decisions.
- Extract meaningful insights from diverse data sources to identify trends, issues and opportunities for customer-centric improvements.
- Communicate effectively through translating complex data into clear, concise and engaging stories for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders / business units to prioritise initiatives that delivers highest potential impact and benefit to the community.
- Coach and mentor team members to build capability.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: - Degree qualification in a relevant area; experience in an insights role within a research agency or in-house environment is essential.
- Extensive experience in designing and leading quantitative research projects.
- Proven experience in distilling complex data, into actionable insights and communicating strategic recommendations to a broad business audience.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with and managing senior stakeholders within a large, diverse organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using Q, SPSS and/or SQL,would be highly regarded.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, utilising different forms of visualisations and platforms to communicate research findings and insights to key stakeholders.
- Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies.
Essential requirements:
It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose, you must be an Australian Citizen.
Satisfactory criminal record check.
Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at $129464 base plus superannuation
