Position Overview
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of goods to customers while maintaining a high standard of customer service and workplace safety.
This is a full-time permanent position with a fixed roster/schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to work consistent weekly hours according to the company’s operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to complete scheduled delivery runs
- Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately according to invoices and run sheets
- Conduct pre-start vehicle checks and report any faults or damage
- Secure loads correctly to prevent damage during transport
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers
- Obtain delivery confirmations/signatures where required
- Follow all road rules, company policies, and WH&S procedures
- Communicate delays, incidents, or issues to the dispatch team promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and general care of company vehicles
Requirements & Skills
- Valid and current driver’s licence (appropriate class for vehicle)
- Clean driving record
- Good knowledge of local delivery areas (preferred)
- Ability to work a full-time fixed roster
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Good communication and customer service skills
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing (if applicable)
- Forklift licence (LF) highly regarded but not essential
- Must be able to provide a current police check:
- National Police Check
- Must be able to provide Medical Clearance
Pre-Employment Medical Clearance Requirement
This role involves manual handling duties, including moving heavy stock. Some items may weigh up to 50kg; however, team lifting procedures and mechanical lifting aids are used in accordance with workplace safety requirements.
As part of the pre-employment process for this physically demanding role, applicants are required to provide a medical clearance from a registered medical practitioner confirming they are fit to perform the inherent requirements of the position.The role may include:
- Repetitive lifting and carrying
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and crouching
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Climbing ladders and safely accessing elevated storage areas
- Loading and unloading vehicles and containers
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment where required
- Driving company vehicles where required
- Sitting for extended periods while driving
- Entering and exiting vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday
- Maintaining adequate vision, hearing, mobility, and coordination required for safe vehicle operation
- Working safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment around moving vehicles and machinery
- Working in varying temperatures and weather conditions where applicable
The medical practitioner is requested to confirm whether the applicant is medically fit to safely perform these duties and whether any restrictions, limitations, or workplace accommodations are required.
Failure to provide the required medical clearance may affect the applicant’s suitability for employment in this role.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
