We're looking for a Category Manager – Logistics to lead logistics procurement across Australia and New Zealand. This is a strategically important role overseeing a high value logistics spend portfolio, with responsibility for shaping category strategy, leading complex sourcing activities, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver long-term value.
This role would suit someone who combines strong commercial acumen with deep logistics expertise and enjoys operating at the intersection of procurement, supply chain and business strategy.

About your role
You'll take ownership of the logistics category strategy, leading sourcing activities across road transport, warehousing, bulk logistics and storage solutions. You'll manage a portfolio of more than 20 contracts while developing category plans that drive value, strengthen supplier partnerships and support business growth.
Working closely with supply chain, commercial and product teams, you'll lead multiple sourcing projects simultaneously, negotiate complex agreements and provide strategic guidance on logistics market dynamics, cost drivers and commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute multi-year logistics category strategies across freight, transport, warehousing and network services.
Lead high-value sourcing initiatives, tenders and contract negotiations.
Manage strategic supplier relationships and governance frameworks.
Drive commercial outcomes through cost optimisation, risk mitigation and value delivery initiatives.
Partner with stakeholders to deliver procurement strategies that support business priorities and customer outcomes.
Monitor market trends, capacity constraints and pricing dynamics to inform sourcing decisions.
Support procurement excellence through improved governance, contract management and analytical insights.
Who are we looking for?
Experience in category management, strategic sourcing or procurement within logistics, transport, warehousing or supply chain environments.
Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts and supplier relationships.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing category strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Strong analytical capability, including cost modelling, spend analysis and evaluation of market opportunities.
Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and competing stakeholder priorities simultaneously.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels of the business.
Highly regarded:
Experience with bulk liquids, dangerous goods logistics, transport sourcing or storage and terminal operations.
Experience in chemicals, mining, fertiliser, manufacturing or other heavy industrial sectors.
Exposure to 3PL/4PL models, logistics transformation or network optimisation projects.
