Gensler Sydney is seeking a Technical Designer to join our growing Data Centres practice. You will work alongside experienced Architects and Designers, contributing to the design, documentation and delivery of complex projects across all project phases.
This is an opportunity to develop your technical and design skills, gain experience on large-scale Data Centre projects, and build your architectural career within a collaborative studio environment.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of Data Centre and other complex projects across all project phases.
- Support the development of drawings, documentation, models and presentations.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with technical coordination and resolution of design and documentation issues.
- Produce plans, elevations, sections, details and construction documentation.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews and consultant coordination.
- Support project sustainability and client ESG objectives throughout the design process.
- Work closely with senior team members to develop your technical, design and project delivery capabilities.
- Contribute to wider studio activities, knowledge sharing and learning initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of relevant architectural experience.
- Strong design and technical aptitude, demonstrated through a portfolio of work.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Revit for design, documentation and project delivery.
- Familiarity with Rhino, AutoCAD and BIM coordination workflows.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and an interest in high-performance buildings.
- Familiarity with Navisworks, BIM 360, Grasshopper, Dynamo and real-time visualisation tools is advantageous.
