The Company Our client is an international manufacturing business specialising in the recycling and reprocessing of post-consumer and industrial plastic waste. Their Revesby facility processes a wide range of plastic materials including HDPE, LDPE, PET and Polypropylene, converting waste streams into reusable pellets and raw materials used across manufacturing and construction industries.

The Role As a Plastic Recycling Pelletising Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining plastic extrusion and pelletising equipment used in the recycling process.
This position requires previous plastics industry experience and an understanding of extrusion, pelletising and polymer processing. Candidates with overseas plastics manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
You will play a critical role in ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate pelletising machinery including temperature zones, screw speeds, cutter speeds and PLC-controlled systems
- Measure, mix and feed recycled plastic materials into processing equipment
- Operate extrusion and pelletising equipment to produce high-quality recycled plastic pellets
- Monitor melting, filtration, degassing and extrusion processes
- Conduct quality inspections on finished pellets, including size, shape, colour and moisture content
- Monitor PLC control panels and production systems
- Adjust machine settings to optimise output and minimise waste
- Complete production documentation and quality records
- Troubleshoot process issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to maximise plant performance
Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery
- Replace screens, filters and die heads as required
- Clear blockages and perform minor mechanical adjustments
- Identify equipment faults and escalate maintenance requirements
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities
About You To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience within the plastics industry.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience operating plastic extrusion, recycling or pelletising machinery
- Experience working with plastic materials including HDPE, LDPE, PET or Polypropylene
- Strong understanding of plastic processing and manufacturing environments
- Experience operating PLC-controlled production equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work extended shifts when required
- Strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
Highly Regarded
- Experience within plastic recycling operations
- Knowledge of polymer processing and material properties
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems
- Trade qualifications or technical manufacturing background
