As our Commissioning business continues to grow, we're seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Tasmania. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex mission critical and building services projects across Australia while developing your career within HDR's global network of commissioning professionals.
The Role
As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you'll support the delivery of commissioning services across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on mission critical facilities and data centres.
Working alongside experienced Commissioning Managers and technical design teams, you'll be involved in the planning, testing, validation and handover of critical mechanical systems, helping ensure they perform safely, efficiently and reliably in accordance with client requirements and design intent.
This position is offered as an initial two-year fixed-term contract and has been created to support a strong pipeline of commissioning projects, based in Tasmania. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to some of the country's most technically complex projects while building your career within HDR's growing Commissioning business.

Maintain commissioning records, reporting and project documentation.
-
Support project delivery, planning and commissioning programmes.
-
Contribute to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives across the Commissioning team.
What Makes This Role Different?
Working within a growing national commissioning team, you'll be exposed to technologies and systems that are rarely encountered in conventional building services projects, while being supported by HDR's global technical network.
You'll have the opportunity to develop expertise across:
-
HVAC and critical cooling systems
-
Chilled water, condenser water and hydronic systems
-
Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) systems

We’re looking for someone who is:
-
Passionate about engineering, commissioning and technical problem solving.
-
Eager to develop their expertise within building services and mission critical environments.
-
Detail-oriented, organised and committed to quality outcomes.

A strong communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with project teams.
-
Proactive and willing to take ownership of their work and professional development.
-
Safety-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
Ideally, You’ll Have
